Overview
The Buran Ghati Trek is one of the most thrilling and diverse high-altitude treks in Himachal Pradesh, taking you across the formidable Buran Ghati Pass at 15,000 feet. It is a classic cross-over trek that starts from the Pabbar Valley in Janglik and descends into the Baspa Valley in Barua village.
Highlights
- Ancient Himachali Villages: The trek bridges two distinct cultural valleys, starting from the remote, wood-and-stone village of Janglik and ending in the orchard-rich village of Barua.
- Dayara Meadows: Widely regarded as one of the most picturesque and pristine alpine campsites in the Himalayas, featuring wide, rolling green pastures.
- Chandranahan Valley and Lake: An acclimatization hike takes you past cascading waterfalls up into a glacial valley framed by snow fields and the pristine Chandranahan Lake.
- The 15,000 ft Pass Crossing: Scaling the Buran Ghati Pass rewards you with stunning views of the Kinner Kailash ranges.
- The Thrilling Ice Wall Descent: A signature adventure element where trekkers use safety equipment and techniques to navigate a steep snow/ice wall descent on the other side of the pass (predominantly in summer/early-season windows).
